Put Your “Bucket List” In Your Journal

Sunday, September 28th, 2008

You may or may not have seen the movie “Bucket List”.  I don’t want to give it away, but basically it is about a couple of older gentlemen who decide to create a list of all the things they want to do before they kick the bucket.  So, they set out on some awesome adventures in order to do everything on the list.  It is a very good movie, and it honestly inspired me when I saw it.  I decided to create my own bucket list, which in no way is limited to the young or young at heart.  Everyone, of all ages, should create their own bucket list.

I created a journal entry right here in MUJ and I titled it “Bucket List”.  Anytime I complete something on my list I simply logon to my journal, and type “bucket list” into the search feature which brings up every entry I have or photo I have uploaded relevant to my list.  I love this because it gives me a central place to login anytime to update my list, or virtually mark off things I complete from the list.  And honestly, I have found that I have accomplished more lifelong goals since actually creating my list.  It is an amazing experience when you actually make those dreams and goals that have lived only in your mind a reality.  Logging them in your private journal is your first step and MUJ is the best tool to keep your every entry private!  Definately, create your bucket list today.

Journaling Tip: Upload Your Photos with Your Journal

Friday, September 26th, 2008

Don’t forget to always attach relevant photos on the same day you write your journal entries.  Attaching photos will often make your journal writings come to life.  For example, when you go on vacation you probably take lots of pictures.  Well, when you get home and begin to chronicle that vacation in your journal, then take just a minute and upload the pictures.

Maybe, you are journaling about a great restaurant you went to while on vacation, so next year you can visit the same place.  If the restaurant was that great, then you might just have a picture of it, so be sure and upload that picture too, so you don’t forget what the place looks like next year!

Journaling Tip: Positive Daily Journal Entries Are Great!

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

When writing a journal you may often find yourself writing about things that are really depressing or stressful in your life.  There is absolutely no harm in this and actually it is a great way to relieve those pressures of everyday life.  But, how about this thought - Take some time to write about the good things in your everyday life.

Maybe you landed a new client at work, maybe you made an A on a test, maybe you had a great night out with your spouse.  Think of anything good that happened today, even if it is as small as the fact that you had a great burger for lunch, and write it in your journal.  Heck, snap a quick picture of something good and keep that in your journal too.

Maybe you went on a cool trip today and you took some photos, or maybe you just got married and want to save your Marriage Certificate to your journal.

If you use MyUnionJournal.com you can do all this, so definately create your journal today, or login and write something good, upload a fun photo, and make a habit to do this on a regular basis.

Benefit of Private Journaling: Stress Reduction

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

Create a private online journal just to relieve stress.  Have you ever just been so stressed out about school, work, bills, your marriage, your kids or any number of things that almost everyone stresses about?  Well, I personally find that private journaling is a wonderful release.  Some may call it free-writing.  But, honestly there is nothing like just pouring your heart out without even thinking about what you are writing.  Just let your mind be free and write.  I got carried away the other night and wrote for about an hour just basically “writing on the fly” about whatever came to mind.  But, the next day I felt better than I had felt in months.  You should give it a try.  If you want to relieve some stress, definately create your own private journal today!
